Family Support

As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher, and we at Wilmington Head Start couldn’t agree more. We strongly believe in encouraging family engagement, open communication, and collaborative relationships between families and staff. Rest assured that your child’s needs, especially if they have special needs, will always be met through coordinated efforts between you and the school district. Each family is assigned a Family Service Advocate (FSA) who will assist them with any needs that they may encounter throughout the year. Each FSA is knowledgeable about local community services and agencies which may be of assistance to the family. Family Services is managed by the Family Partnership Specialist (FPS) who oversees and supports the activities of the FSAs. If you need help, please feel free to reach out.
